It's Christmas!

Christmas has been well and truly on our minds in Prep/1C. Even in Maths it was all about Christmas.  The children had to go around the room to collect data concerning our knowledge, wishes and beliefs about Christmas.

We asked questions like "How many reindeer does Santa have pulling his sleigh?" and "How will Santa get into your house to deliver his presents?"

The children collected the data from their classmates, and recorded their findings in a graph.

Look at them here.  They were so amazing!  It took organisation, cooperation and skill to complete this exercise, and they all did it beautifully!

Afterwards we looked at the graphs to interpret them so that we could make statements about our grade.

What a great little group of mathematicians we all are!

You will be enjoying much of our craft now that we very busily made in the run up to the end of the school year.

Ask your child how they made some of these things.  You may enjoy using these techniques on other pieces of artwork over the holidays.

Finally we had a visit from the High School Christmas Band.  This was fantastic!  We even had a number of ex-Wangaratta West Primary School students in the band.
