The Best Sports' Day Ever!

What an amazing day we had at the Prep to Grade 2 Sports' Day on Tuesday.  The overcast day was perfect, ensuring that energy levels remained high, and enjoyment for children and spectators were clear for all to see!

Jamie showing great skills in the obstacle race.

Freddie makes it out of the tunnel.

Ellie puts a huge effort into her throw at the skittles.

Look at Reece racing off at great speed.

Luke and Ellie pause for a quick photo between activities.

Without question this was the very best Sports' Day that I have been a part of!  A huge thank you to Hayley Currie for the great organisation that ran so smoothly.  We did not have those long waits between activities.  Everyone was so excited and so willing to 'have a go'.  All thanks to that magical mix of serious athletic activities such as the high jump, and the fun activities perfectly pitched at the younger children such as the obstacle race and sack races.

Thanks also to the Grade 6 children who worked tirelessly to ensure that we all had a grand day.  They were wonderful with our little people encouraging them all the way.

Luke and Ellie showed their skills with the skittles.

Josh guided his groups around with great care, cheering them on all the way.

Jed and Ella showed that they had a great aim.

Cale, Jasmine and Noah.

Cale and Jasmine show their speed in the sprints.

Amy, Georgia, Eli and Julian showing their accuracy in skittles.

Morgan, Aida and Reece showed a strong arm and aim with their vortex throws.

I was so proud of every one of my cherubs in Prep/1C for their enthusiasm, their team spirit, their support of each other, and their joy in the day.  What a truly delightful bunch they are!

We broke half way through events for a picnic lunch on the oval.

This was a time to share.

To compare.

To relax

To fill those empty tanks.

It was lovely to see families and friends gathering to support our little folk on this brilliant day of fun and laughter.

The human quoits were a great laugh all round.

Do ask your child all about them.

Just look at Jamie and Freddie flying through the air at the long jump!

Cale, Jasmine and Noah showed great courage and skill in the high jump.

Aida in the obstacle race.

The day ended with the relay races.

The first was the egg and spoon race.

This took a lot of skill and concentration.

It took determination and perseverance.

And it took patience, co-operation and support, all of which Prep/1C children showed in spades!

The running relays gave them an opportunity to show their speed.

The final race was the sack race.

The looks on the children's faces say it all.

They all had such a wonderful time.

I am certain that this will be a day that they will remember for many years to come.
